• 1967 - Hair, advertised as the American “Tribal Love-Rock Musical,” opens off-Broadway at the Public Theater in New York's East Village. The show moved to Broadway in April 1968 and ran for 1,750 performances, closing on July 1st, 1972. The play's original cast album spawned the hit singles Aquarius / Let the Sun Shine In, Good Morning Starshine, Easy To Be Hard and Hair
• 1957 - Bobby Helms records Jingle Bell Rock. By December it will be in the Top 10, eventually selling over a million copies and of course, becoming a Christmas classic. Over the years 100+ artists will record the song
• 1977 - A 30 year old rocker named Marvin Lee Aday, who uses the stage name Meat Loaf releases what will become his landmark album Bat Out Of Hell. Since then, the LP has sold 43 million copies
• 1982 - Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson released The Girl is Mine, which will hit # 2 on Billboard
• 1983 - Islands In The Stream gave Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers a # 1 hit together. The song was written by The Bee Gees
