Sept 21st in Pop History
Regarding September 21st, in:
• 1978 - Earth, Wind & Fire saluted this date in their 1978 hit September… singing “Do you remember the 21st night of September?"
They have recorded eight # 1 R&B singles and eight Double Platinum Top 10 Pop Albums. EWF has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, earning them a solid spot as one of the best selling music artists of all-time.
This song, September, is one of my favorite songs ever. It’s a feel good song if you’re down; a waker upper, if you’re driving to work; or a “get pumped up” song if you’re needing a boost to take on some challenge. Or, maybe that’s just me.
But I know everyone loves this song….
September by Earth, Wind, & Fire on Spotify:
September is a song by the band Earth, Wind, & Fire, released as a single in 1978 on Columbia Records. Initially included as a track for The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1, September was very successful commercially and reached # 1 on the Billboard Hit R&B Songs, # 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and # 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The song remains a staple of the band's body of work and has been sampled, covered, remixed, and re-recorded many, many times. It’s hard to go a day without hearing this song played on classic rock radio stations.

September was later certified Gold for digital sales by the RIAA, and has sold over 2 million digital copies in the US as of September 2017.
